The course was designed for the senior layperson. It introduced the basic anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, and described the various disorders that can affect the elderly human brain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/creatureandcreator.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Human-Brain-Header.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1049\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1049\" src=\"https:\/\/creatureandcreator.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Human-Brain-Header-1024x358.jpg\" alt=\"Human Brain Header\" width=\"480\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/creatureandcreator.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Human-Brain-Header-1024x358.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/creatureandcreator.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Human-Brain-Header-300x105.jpg 300w, https:\/\/creatureandcreator.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Human-Brain-Header-768x268.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The course was given at a second-year university level. Some of the material may have been more than the students needed to know, but most were able to follow the main points of the talks, and some were fascinated by the details.<\/p>\n<p>The presentations were supplemented with extensive teaching materials \u2013 slides, notes, movies, etc. Many of the illustrations were adapted or created specifically for the course.
